ABOUT SEISMOCON:

For decades, much attention has been focused on developing methods to warn about impending earthquakes; however, little attention has been paid to post-disaster technology. The approach of Seismocon Systems is to measure and analyze data gathered during an earthquake in order to save lives and accelerate recovery afterward.

We combine data from sensors developed for earth science, material science, and acoustic emission technology, analyze it with an AI algorithm, and use it to determine, within 60 seconds after an incident, if a building, bridge or tunnel is safe to enter and use.

Our system monitor objects and automatically determines if the integrity of a structure has been compromised. The proprietary algorithm we develop is a multi-layer analytic system using data from both our own hardware monitoring unit attached to the object, as well as a large number of databases from various governmental and private servers to determine the safety level of each particular object. .

The system can be used by businesses and homeowners to rapidly assess the level of risk in re-occupying their structures. Seismocon makes it possible to avoid casualties and to prevent people from exposing themselves to risks that otherwise could have been avoided. The system also makes possible the prioritization of disaster relief activities by both first-responders and local governments.  This is particularly important for economic and community recovery which often stagnate while time-consuming on-the-ground inspections need to be made of all building.

ABOUT EARTHQUAKE SAFETY:

Earthquakes happen all the time… as in right now.

People have tried to create a “Panic button” for the past 30 years, and yet, if you are at the epicenter of an earthquake, an early warning system will not help you. It is impossible to predict earth movement, regardless of your computer power.

When an earthquake happens, no one knows if it is a foreshock, main-shock or even an after-shock. An incident in Japan a few years ago is an example of such danger. As a result of good and implemented building codes, no one was killed. People returned to their homes and work, and 24 hours later the actual main earthquake happened. A large number of people were killed due to collapsing buildings and structures that could not take a second hit. The structural integrity was compromised but people didn’t know.

The USGS states that “Earthquakes don’t kill people, buildings do.”

Until now, no one has put the post-disaster situation of an earthquake into focus. We have built a sophisticated system which, in the aftermath of an earthquake, will alert you if the building you use is safe or not.

HOW SEISMOCON WORKS:

Seismocon System is a highly advanced instrumentation box, the size of a smart phone, installed on a wall of the building. It monitors the structural health using earth science, engineering and acoustic emission technologies. 60 seconds after an earthquake, you will receive a text message giving you a Green, Yellow or Red warning about your structure. This may not only save the lives of you and your family, but also people in other workplaces, schools, hospitals, airports, etc. The unit is developed for mass-production to enable low cost implementation at the home market, as well as the corporate and governmental marketplace.

We are not monitoring earthquakes or hurricanes:

Regardless of what rattles the building, Seismocon will tell you if it is a safe environment or not. Vibrations, movement and noise happen in landslides, hurricanes, explosions, and/or floods. Our proprietary algorithm monitors structures, and not the cause of action that is changing the structural integrity.
